National Societies act as auxiliary organs to the public authorities, and are subject to the laws in force in the country while retaining their complete independence so that they may act in accordance with the fundamental principles of the Movement. Service in the movement is voluntary and does not seek to make any profit. There may be no more than one National Red Cross and Red Crescent Society in each country, and its services must be available to all and cover all parts of the country. The international movement is a global movement in which all associations enjoy the same rights and are obligated to cooperate with each other.
